Error in Page Page: /Anyview/Login Validate.asp Error Number -2147221005

Issue Description

When attempting to login to AnyView Browser, the following error message is displayed:

Error in Page
Page: /AnyView/Login Validate.asp
Error Number: -2147221005
Error Description: 006~ASP 0177~Server.CreateObject Failed~Invalid ProgID. For additional information specific to this message please visit the Microsoft Online Support site located at: http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
Additional Info: ASIWERDS.RunFavorite object creation error
AnyView Version: AnyView Build x.xx - date time

This occurs when the ASIWERDS.dll does not exist or is not registered on the IIS server.

Solution

  1. Verify that the file ASIWERDS.dll exists in the "..\WINNT\system32" folder on the IIS server.
  2. If the file does not exist, follow the steps below:
    1. Unload the Web Application using the following steps: Show Me
      1. From the IIS machine, launch the Internet Services Manager.
      2. Navigate to the AnyView Web Application. (In a standard installation, this would be in the Default Web Site folder.)
      3. Right-click on AnyView and select 'Properties'.
      4. From the Virtual Directory tab, click 'Unload' then 'OK'.
    2. Reinstall the AnyView Browser Web Components.
  3. If ASIWERDS.dll does exist on the IIS server, check to see that the version matches the version in the error message.
  4. Use regsvr32.exe to register the ASIWERDS.dll.
    1. From the Windows Taskbar, click 'Start' then 'Run'.
    2. In the 'Open box enter: "regsvr32.exe asiwerds.dll"
    3. Click 'OK'.
    4. If you receive the message "DllRegisterServer in c:\winnt\system32\asiwerds.dll succeeded" you know that the dll is registered properly.
