Dial-up Connection window is displayed when viewing AnyView

Issue Description

When IIS and the AnyView web application are installed locally,the Dial-up Connection window is displayed when viewing AnyView offline. After the connection fails, only a few cached AnyView pages can be seen.

The Internet Explorer Dialup and Virtual Private Network settings, when set to 'Dial whenever a network connection is not present' and 'Always dial my default connection' can be the cause of this issue.


To correct this error, follow these steps to change the 'Connections' setting in Internet Explorer.

  1. In Internet Explorer, select 'Tools', 'Internet Options', and navigate to the 'Connections' tab.
  2. Choose 'Never dial a connection' and click 'OK'.
  3. Choose the option to work offline when you are prompted to connect to the Internet.
Note - After navigating to the Local AnyView URL (such as http://localhost/AnyView/Default.asp) and entering a valid username and password, you will get an error message that the page is not available offline. When this happens, choose the option to connect (even though you are offline) and this will enable the loading of a local AnyView application.
