Additional Info: ASIWERDS.RunFavorite.GetFavorites method error
AnyView Version: AnyView Build 4.64- 6/13/2002 10:39:00 AM

This error is typically generated when using the PSQL database platform with incorrectly generated DDF files.

Solution

To resolve this issue, new DDFs must be created using the proper DDF Generator settings.

Important Notes for Pervasive 2000

  • Service Pack 2a or higher must be installed.
  • When creating the DDFs, it is critical that you include all tables from AnyView.
  • A separate Engine and Client DSN must be created for each company using the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
  • When generating DDFs, you should include the ASILOC50 (Item Master), ASILOc55 (Vendor Items) and ASITAB30 (Smartlist Language Master) tables from the SmartList dictionary in order for all of the SmartList objects to function properly. Do not select the 'All Tables' for the Smartlist product.
  • If you are on Pervasive 2000 Service Pack 3 or higher, you must add the following line to the [GENERAL] section of the AnyView.ini file:
    CURSORTYPE=2

Generate new DDFs as follows:

  1. Launch the DDF Generator.
To do this in a standard install, click 'Start' > 'Programs' > Dynamics > DDF Generator > DDF Generator
  2. From the Generate DDF files window, click the lookup button for the 'Launch File' field and navigate to your Dynamics.set file.
  3. Select "Dynamics" from the drop-down menu for the 'Product' field.
  4. Click the lookup button for the 'DDF Location' field and navigate to the location of your company data.
  5. For DDF Creation, select the 'Replace Existing' option.
  6. For Text Field Creation, select the 'Note' option.
  7. For 'Included Tables', select the 'All' option.
  8. Select 'Create Index File'.
  9. Deselect 'Combine Segments'.
  10. Select 'Treat Boolean as Integer.
  11. Click 'Generate'.
    • A dialog will appear as follows:
FILE.DDF, FIELD.DDF, and INDEX.DDF files generated in path
path to company data from the launch file path to Dynamics.set file for product Dynamics.
    • If you get this message instead:
Failed to create path to database\file.ddf(25)
the DDF files are locked or believed to be locked by the Pervasive Services.
      • Close any applications that use DSNs that access those DDFs (Crystal Reports is an example of such an application.)
      • If this does not resolve the problem, you will need to restart your Pervasive Services as follows:
        1. Launch the Pervasive Control Center
In a standard install, click 'Start' > 'Programs' > 'Pervasive' > 'Pervasive Control Center'.
        2. Right-click on the server and select 'Tasks' > 'Stop all Pervasive Services'.
        3. Right-click on the server and select 'Tasks' > 'Restart all Pervasive Services'.
  12. Click ' OK'.
  13. Change the DDF Creation to the 'Append to Existing' option.
  14. Change the Product Name to SmartList.
  15. *Change the 'Included Tables' from 'All' to 'Selected' and click 'Tables'. Select the tables "ASILOC50", "ASILOC55", and "ASITAB30", then click 'OK'.
  16. Click 'Generate'.
    • A dialog will appear as follows:
FILE.DDF, FIELD.DDF, and INDEX.DDF files generated in path
path to company data from the launch file
path to Dynamics.set file for product SmartList.
  17. Click 'OK'.
  18. Change the Product Name to the next item on the drop-down list.
  19. Change the 'Included Tables' back to 'All'.
  20. Click 'Generate'.
    • A dialog will appear as follows:
FILE.DDF, FIELD.DDF, and INDEX.DDF files generated in path
path to company data from the launch file
path to Dynamics.set file for product product name.
  21. Click 'OK'.
  22. Change the Product Name to the next item on the drop-down list.
  23. Click 'Generate'.
    • A dialog will appear as follows:
FILE.DDF, FIELD.DDF, and INDEX.DDF files generated in path
path to company data from the launch file
path to Dynamics.set file for product product name.
  24. Repeat steps #19 and #20 until you have added all of the listed products.
* IMPORTANT NOTE - Failure to follow this step may cause the DDF Generator application to fail. If this happens, go back to step #1.
