Error getting logged in users:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user

Issue Description

After launching the AnyView Site Management Utility and selecting the AnyView parent directory, the error message, "Error getting logged in users:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user "username". Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection." is displayed.

AnyView Site Management Utility requires a valid SQL login and password in order to open a SQL connection. This login and password is stored in the AnyView.ini file, and is maintained using the AnyView DSN Setup Window. The error indicates that the SQL Login for External Users on the AnyView DSN Setup window is invalid.

Solution

Log in to Great Plains, and open the AnyView DSN Setup window. In a typical install, this window can be opened from 'Utilities > System > AV DSN Setup.

From the AnyView DSN Setup window, enter a valid **Login Name and Password in the SQL Login for External Users. Once the correct information is input and saved, the AnyView Site Management Utility should run correctly.

**For AnyView version 4.82 and earlier, this login and password must be a valid Great Plains user whose password is maintained within Great Plains. The AnyView Site Management Utility will fail if the password for the 'SQL Login for External Users' used in the DSN Setup window was set using SQL Enterprise Manager.

Note: After saving any change to the DSN Setup, you must unload your AnyView web application in order for those changes to take affect in AnyView Browser.
