The File Download dialog box appears twice when exporting data to Word or Excel.

Issue Description

When exporting data to Word or Excel from AnyView Browser, the File Download dialog box asks the user if they want to open or save the file. After they make their selection and click 'OK', the same dialog box appears a second time.

This problem can occur if Internet Explorer does not correctly process the Content-Disposition header and the data that this header is defining.

This is a known issue in Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 as discussed in the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article number 281119.

Solution

To resolve this problem, obtain and install the latest service pack for Internet Explorer version 5.5, or upgrade to Internet Explorer version 6.

To download the latest service pack, browse to the Microsoft Products downloads page and select:

  • Product: Internet Explorer
  • Keywords: 5.5

Doing a general search for the Internet Explorer product will ensure that you are displayed the most current version. Download the correct version for your operating system, and follow the installation steps provided.
