16 August 2005

Issue Description

When launching the AnyView IDS Console one is presented with the following message:

You have not been granted access to the AnyView IDS Console.

This error occurs when the Windows or Forms authenticated user trying to access the console has not been granted "Console Administrator" permissions in the Security > Logins section of the AnyView IDS Console.

Solution

In order to access the AnyView IDS Console, the user must have been granted "Console Administrator" permissions in the Security > Logins section of the AnyView IDS Console.

The following steps may help resolve this issue:

Have another AnyView IDS Console User access the console.

a.       Within the console navigate to the Security > Logins section from the navigation pane.

b.       From the results pane, select and right click on your login and select "Modify Login".  This will open the Login Properties window.

c.       Click on "Console Administrator" in the "Console Security" tab of the Login Properties Window.  Consult the AnyView IDS Console Online Guide for further information on login settings.

d.      Click "OK".

You should now be able to launch and access the AnyView IDS Console.

If there are no other AnyView IDS Console users available, it is possible to grant "Console Administrator" rights from the "Users" table in the AnyView IDS database.

a.       Navigate to the AnyView IDS database and select the "Users" table.

b.       Right-click on the "Users" table and click on Open Table > Return all rows.

c.       Identify the record for your "Login" and set the "ConsoleAdmin" column to "1".

d.       Close the "Users" table.

You should now be able to launch and access the AnyView IDS Console.
