Error: asi_script - The remaining text does not appear to be part of the formula
1 January 2004
When printing a Forms Printer document that has been modified with Crystal Reports, the following error is generated:
The remaining text does not appear to be part of the formula
The error message appears at the point where the printer confirmation screen should be.
This Crystal Report Engine error typically means that a formula on the report cannot be deciphered because a function used in the formula isn't available.
It is likely that your modified report uses a formula that includes a function that is located in a custom DLL (examples of this are functions that print bar codes, or functions that format strings in a special way).
If you run the report in Crystal Report, it will launch for Formula Editor and display the formula that is attempting to use the missing DLL file.
In order to resolve this issue, you must either:
- Contact the developer of the modified report and obtain a copy of the missing custom DLL file.
(In a default installation, you would place this file in the C:\WINNT\Crystal directory.)
- Remove the formula(s) from the report that is (are) causing the error.
